About the Film

February 13th, 2012

Proudly comprising approximately 11% of the world’s population, left-handed people pack a major punch when it comes to our proportion of successful captains of industry and policy, professional sporting legends, scientific trailblazers, world renowned artists and, last but not least, comedic icons.

Being left-handed is a source of high pride for those of us bestowed with this genetic gift.  But even with the evidence of our overachievements, is our smugness truly warranted? What, if anything, makes a left-handed person more intelligent, more athletic, more creative, or funnier?

This 90-minute documentary film will tackle the truths behind the current renaissance of left-handedness, without ignoring the ignominy and the challenges. The film will also lightheartedly educate the right-handed majority in the number of ways they have (deliberately?) oppressed their opposite-handed counterparts. The story of left-handedness will finally be told, but thankfully not in the right way.
